You can create holes at the selected points on the body or on the points created in the sketch. To create holes, the “Hole” command is used in the NX modeling.
There are different hole types in the Hole command dialog box. You can change the hole style on the drop-down list at the top of the command dialog box.
Hole types:
- Simple
- Counterbored
- Countersunk
- Tapered
- Threaded
- Hole Series

To create countersunk holes on the solid body
- Start the Hole command.
- Select the points. Also, you can select a sketch. All the points in the sketch will be selected automatically. (“Specify Point” in the “Position” group is highlighted.)
- Set the hole type to “Countersunk” on the drop-down list at the top of the dialog box.
- Specify sizes in the “Form Group” (Hole diameter, Countersunk diameter, Countersunk angle)
- Specify the depth limit.
- The preview will appear in the graphics window.
- Click the “Ok” button to create holes and finish the command.
Note: you can move the countersunk starting and specify a depth distance to the countersunk starting.
- Click the drop-down arrow at the bottom of the “Hole” command dialog box.
- New settings will open in the dialog box.
- Turn on the “Apply Relief” in the “Relief” group
- Specify the “Depth” value in the “Relief” group.
