Problem 1:
- I can not see the text in the part navigator. Spline feature created (in the “Groups” and “Non-timestamp Geometry”) instead of text feature in the “Model History” of the part navigator.
- I can not edit the text. “Studio Spline” edit dialog box is opening when trying to edit text by double-clicking on the text on the screen.
Solution 1:
- This problem occurs because of the wrong settings selection in the command dialog box. You can not edit these texts after created in the NX modeling. You should create text again by activating the “Associative” setting in the “Settings” tabs of the text dialog box when the text command is active.
Problem 2: I can not see the text in the assembly.
Solution 2: This problem occurs because of the “Reference Set” settings of the assembly. There are two reasons and two solutions for this problem.
- Reason A: Associative setting is closed from the settings tab in the dialog box when text created. As a result, text created as a spline, and the text placed in the “Groups” and “Non-timestamp Geometry” tab in the part navigator. If the assembly “Reference Set” is set as a “Model”, you only see the part features that listed in the “Model History” tab of the “Part Navigator”. For this reason, you can not see the text in the assembly.
- Solution A:
- Recreate the text by activating the “Associative” setting in the command dialog box.
- Change the assembly “Reference Set” as shown in the solution B
- Reason B: The “Reference Set” settings of the assembly set as a “MODEL” because of that assembly file only shows the part/component features that inside the “Model History”. If the text associativity was closed from the settings when it was created, the Text feature would not be placed in Model History. (Look Problem/Solution 1) As a result, you can not see the text in the assembly.
- Solution B1: Change the part reference set includes text in the assembly:
- Type “Replace Reference Set” in the “Command Finder”
- The command finder dialog box will open. Select the “Replace Reference Set” command in the list.
- The command dialog box will open. Select Objects will be highlighted when the command starts.
- Select the part that includes text inside.
- Click “Ok” in the dialog box.
- “Replace Reference Set” dialog opens. The reference sets are listed in the dialog box.
- Select the “Entire Part” from the list.
- Click “Ok” or the middle mouse button to finish command.
- Solution B2:
- Right-click on the part that includes text in the assembly. (You can click the right mouse button on the part by using “Assembly Navigator” or by clicking part on the screen. )
- Move mouse cursor on the “Replace Reference Set” in the opening list.
- The new list will open near the “Replace Reference Set”.
- Select the “Entire Part” from the list.
Problem 3: The text on the circular/blended surface does not lie on the surface. I can not divide face through text.
Solution 3: The text lies through a blended curve or surface but letters don’t. The letters are created on a plane tangent to the surface. To solve this problem:
- Activate the “Project Curve” command
- Select Text when the “Select Curve or Point” highlighted.
- Click the middle mouse button once.
- Select Object will highlight.
- Select the surface to project.
- Change the “Projection Direction” setting as the “Along Face Normal”
- Click the middle mouse button or Ok button to finish command.
