Creates main base flange or second flange by extruding sketch.
To activate command:
- Click on command on (When sheet metal application activated.) “ Home => Bend Group => Contour Flange”
- Activate command from “Menu => Insert => Bend => Contour Flange”
For making base “Contour Flange“:
- Activate the “Contour Flange” command.
- Select sketch to make contour flange or create new using the “Sketch Section” in the “Section” tab. “Select curve” will be highlighted automatically when command activated.
- Contour will be extruded perpendicular to the sketch. (You can not change direction vector.)
- Define thickness in the thickness tab. (By the default it is locked. Click on equal sign and select “Use Local Value”.)
- If you want to change the wall direction of the sheet metal, Click on the “Reverse Direction” box in the “Thickness” tab.
- Type extrude length in the “Width” tab. (Also you can change the length by dragging arrow-head on the screen.)
- If you need change bend radius in “Bend Parameters” tab
- Click the middle mouse button or “Ok” to finish.
For making second “Contour Flange“:
- Activate the “Contour Flange” command.
- Click on the “Sketch Section” Box in the “Section” tab to create a contour sketch.
- Create a sketch window box that will be open. The select path will be highlighted automatically. Select the edge to create a sketch.
- Define a sketch plane from Location settings in the “Plane Location” tab.
- Click the middle mouse button or “Ok” to enter the sketch application.
- Draw flange contour. (Curve should be connected with the selected edge)
- Quit sketch. (Click on Finish icon on the home toolbar or press Q on the keyboard.)
- Select extrude type from “Width Option”. (Finite, Symmetric, To End, Chain)
- Type extrude length in the “Width” tab. (Also you can change the length by dragging arrowhead on the screen.)
- If you need change bend radius in “Bend Parameters” tab
- Select bend relief type as square, round, or none. (In figure square selected but I use round nearly every time.)
- Click MMB or “Ok” to finish.
