Detail View

“Detail View” command creates a view that contains a portion of another view. You can create both circular or rectangular detail views

To create a circular view:

  1. Activate the “Detail View” command
  2. Set “Circular” from the first tab.
  3. Specify the center of the boundary on the main view. (“Specify Center Point” will be highlighted automatically at the start.)
  4. “The Boundary Point” will be highlighted and “Base View” selected automatically.
  5. Specify the point to define the boundary of the detail view. 
  6. “Specify Location” will be highlighted automatically.
  7. Select the location for the detail view.
  8. Set the scale for a detail view.
  9. Select the label type.
  10. Close command.

To create a rectangular view:

  1. Activate the “Detail View” command
  2. Set “Rectangle by Corners” from the first tab. (Also, you can select “Rectangle by Center and Corner”. They are same but only selections method are different)
  3. Specify the corner point of the boundary on the main view. (“Specify Corner Point 1” will be highlighted automatically at the start.)
  4. “Specify Corner Point 2” will be highlighted and “Base View” selected automatically.
  5. Specify the point to define the boundary of the detail view.
  6. “Specify Location” will be highlighted automatically.
  7. Select the location for the detail view.
  8. Set the scale for a detail view.
  9. Select the label type.
    • If you do not change the “Label” in the “Label on Parent” tab. The label on the main view will be circular even if the rectangular detail view created.
    • If you want to create a rectangular view label on the main view, change the label from the list in the command dialog. Set the label as “Boundary” or “Label on Boundary”
  10. Close the command.
