Section View

You can create sections from a parent view by using the “Section View” command. 

To activate “Section View” command

• Home Ribbon Bar => View Group => Section View
• Menu => Insert => View => Section

To create a section view in the drawing:

1. Activate “Section View” command
2. Select a point to define section line. (Section Line Segments is highlighted automatically when command started)The section line will be created on this point. Also, the parent view will be selected automatically.
3. When you move the cursor on the screen, you will see the section line follows the mouse cursor. Click on a location in the sheet to define the direction and placement of the section view.
4. Press “Esc” to close the command. 

Creating Section Line with Segments

You can add segments by using two different methods.

• Creating section segments when using “Section View” command
• Creating section segments after “Section View” created

1. Creating section segments when using “Section View” command:
   1. Activate “Section View” command
   2. Select a point to define section line.
   3. The preview of the section line will appear and the command will want you to define location. 
   4. Do not define location !!!
   5. Click on the “Specify Location” in the “Section Line Segments” tab. 
   6. Select new points on the main view to define segments.
   7. Click the middle mouse button to activate “Specify Location” in the “View Origin” tab. (Also you can activate this tab by clicking MMB twice)
   8. Define location by clicking LMB in the sheet to create a section view.
   9. Press “Esc” to close the command
2. Creating section segments after “Section View” created.
   1. Create a section view and exit from the “Section View” command.
   2. Click twice on the section line. Also, you can Right-click on “Section View” and select Edit from the opened dialog list.
   3. You can add segments in two different ways.
      1. Click on the handle on the section line (Shown in the figure)
      2. Click and highlight the “Specify Location” in the “Section Line Segments” tab. 
   4. Define segments by clicking on the main window.
   5. You can move section line segments by moving handles that define segments on the section line.
   6. Click MMB to finish the edit.
