NX is a very flexible cad program and to use this flexibility, you should use the mouse very effectively in the NX. If you know to use the mouse functions, you can activate the most used commands without clicking commands on the ribbon bar. Also, you can assign commands for mouse shortcuts.
Deselect:
- Press and hold “Shift” and click the “Left Mouse Button” selected items to deselect.
Rotate:
- Press and hold the “Middle Mouse Button” and drag to rotate.
(Note: If the rotation velocity is too fast for you, you can decrease speed by activating “Precise Rotation”. It is currently hidden. You can find it by using “Command Finder”.)
Pan:
- Press and hold the “Middle Mouse Button” then press the “Right Mouse Button” and drag the mouse.
- Press and hold “Shift” then press and hold the “Middle Mouse Button” and drag the mouse to pan.
Zoom In /Out:
- Scroll the “Middle Mouse Button” forward/reverse to zoom in/out.
- Press and hold “CTRL” then press and hold the “Middle Mouse Button” and drag the mouse to zoom in/out.
- Press and hold the “Middle Mouse Button” then press the “Left Mouse Button” and drag the mouse. (I don’t use this method. Because I use the index finger for both “Left Mouse Button” and “Middle Mouse Button”. It might be hard for someone to press both “Left Mouse Button” and “Middle Mouse Button”. I use zoom in/out by scrolling the “Middle Mouse Button”. It is very fast and easy to use.)
Activating Commands:
- Press and hold “Shift” and “Ctrl” then press and hold the “Left Mouse Button” or “Middle Mouse Button” or “Right Mouse Button” to open commands in the “Radial Toolbar”. Each combination opens different functions. These functions change due to the application such as modeling, sheet metal, sketch, etc…

Changing View Properties:
- Press and hold the “Right Mouse Button” on an empty area on the screen. “Radial shortcut toolbar” will be opened. You can change view properties from the opened command box.
