You can trim curves in the sketch by using the “Trim Entities” command.
There are five different trim methods.
- Power trim
- Corner
- Trim away inside
- Trim away outside
- Trim to closest
Power Trim: Trims the selected curves through the nearest curve. Also, you can trim or extend the curve to the selected curve.
To trim curves:
- Start the “ Trim Entities” command
- Set the method as “Power Trim”
- Press and hold the left mouse button on an empty area near the curve.
- Drag mouse on curves to trim them to the intersections to other curves.
- Release the left mouse button
To trim or extend the curve to selected curves:
- Move mouse on the curve
- The curve will be highlighted and its color turns orange
- The curve extends with the mouse cursor. You can place the endpoint on the screen by clicking or select a curve to trim/extend to it.
- Click “Ok” to finish.
Corner: You can make a corner between two curves.
Trim away inside: You can trim the curve region between two reference curves/lines.
- Start the “ Trim Entities” command
- Set the method as “Trim away inside”
- Select two curves to specify the trim region for trimming. The region between these two curves will be trimmed.
- Select curves to trim.
- Finish command by clicking “Ok”.
Trim away outside: Trims the outside of the two reference curves.
- Start the “ Trim Entities” command
- Set the method as “Trim away outside”
- Select two curves to specify the trim region for trimming. The region outside of these two curves will be trimmed.
- Select curves to trim.
- Finish command by clicking “Ok”.
Trim to closest: Nearly similar to “Power Trim”. Trims the curves selected sides. You should select each curve one by one.
