Specifying File Directory for New Parts in NX

NX Release: 2206

You can specify a file directory for the new NX files. The new NX files will be created in this folder automatically and saved in it. You can see the folder path on the folder bar in the “New” command dialog box.

Also, this folder will automatically open when you use the “Open” command.

To specify a file directory for new parts:

1. Start the “Customer Defaults”
   File => Utilities => Customer Defaults
2. Select “General” under the “Gateway” on the left panel in the dialog box.
3. Select the “Directories” tab as shown in the figure.
   
4. Click on the “Browse” button under the “Part file directory.
5. Specify the file directory for the new parts and click the “Ok” button.
6. Click on the “Ok” button in the “Customer Defaults” dialog box to apply changes and close the dialog box.
7. Restart the NX program.
   (Changes in the “Customer Defaults” will not apply until the NX session is restarted)
