You can create an up-level parent assembly file for the current working part or assembly file. The working part file will be a component in the newly created up-level assembly.
The working assembly file will be a sub-assembly in the newly created up-level assembly.
The “New Parent Assembly” command is used for this operation.
- Assembly Ribbon Bar => Base Group => New Parent Assembly
- Menu => Assemblies => Components => New Parent Assembly
A new parent assembly file will be created and opened in a new window and named automatically. If you want to change its name use the “Save As” command.
