Creating Point Set on a Curve in NX

You can create a point set that is arranged at an equal distance on a curve or edge in NX Modeling. For this operation, the “Point Set” command is used. The command location on the ribbon bar is shown in the figure.

To create a point set on a curve

  1. Start the “Point Set” command.
  2. Select curve or edge.
    (You can select more than one curve but they should be connected to each other.)
  3. Change the “Curve Points by” setting to “Equal Arc Length”.
  4. Type the number of points you want to create into the “Number of Points” box in the dialog box.
  5. If you want to create points from start to end.
    Start Percentage: 0
    End Percentage: 100
  6. You will see a preview of the points on the curve.
  7. Click on the “OK” button to create points.
