Neutral Factor in NX Sheet Metal

You can change the bending Neutral Factor in the sheet metal model in NX.

There are different changing “Neutral Factor” value methods for

• Active sheet metal working part file.
• Selected bends in the active sheet metal file.
• Default Neutral Factor value in NX by using the “Customer Defaults”.

If you want to change the Neutral Factor of all bendings in the active working sheet metal model, use the preferences settings of the working file as shown in the figure. (File => Preferences => Sheet Metal)

If you want to change the Neutral Factor of certain selected bending or bendings in the sheet metal model, use the “Resize Neutral Factor” command.

• Menu => Insert => Resize => “Resize Neutral Factor”
• Home Ribbon Bar => Resize Group => “Resize Neutral Factor” (hidden)

If you want to change the default Neutral Factor value by using the “Customer Defaults”,

1. Open the “Customer Defaults”.
   File => Utilities => Customer Defaults
2. Change the “Neutral Factor” location in the “Customer Defaults” shown in the figure.
3. Restart NX.
