Recreating Component in NX Assembly

You can create a new part by using an existing part in the NX Assembly file. This new part will have the same geometry as the old existing part until you change its geometry. You can create new parts and sub-assemblies in the main assembly.

  • Assembly Ribbon Bar => Component Group => “Make Unique”
  • Menu => Assemblies =Z Components => “Make Unique”
  • Right-click on the component => Select “Make Unique” on the opening list.

Note: You can use this command on parts and sub-assemblies in the main assembly to create new components.

To create a new part copy of an existing part in the Assembly:

  1. Start the “Make Unique” command.
  2. The “Make Unique” dialog box will open.
  3. If not selected, select a component in the assembly.
    • You can select different parts in a one time. You will change each part’s name when naming parts.
    • If you select the same components, All of your selection’s names will change
  4. Click on the “Name Unique Parts” bar
    The “Name Unique Parts” dialog box will open.
  5. Type new Part file name.
  6. Press “Enter” to activate the “Ok” button in the dialog box.
  7. Click the” Ok” button in the dialog box.
  8. The command window will appear again.
  9. The “Make Unique” dialog box will open again.
  10. Click on the “Ok” button to create a new part and close the dialog box.
