You can create linear patterns in the sketch by using the “Linear Sketch Pattern” command. To activate the command; click on the command icon in the sketch toolbar as shown in the figure or activate the command by following the path of “Tools => Sketch Tools => Linear Pattern”.
To create linear patterns in the sketch
- Activate the “Linear Sketch Pattern” command.
- Select curves to pattern. The selected curves will be seen in the “Entities to Pattern” box.
- If you want to change the direction,
- Click on the “Reverse Direction” icon in the command property manager
- Click on the arrow in the graphics window
- Set the x spacing distance between patterns
- Set the number of patterns on the x-direction
- Set the angle between instances and x angle
- If you want to pattern through y-axis direction repeat step 3, 4, 5, 6
- Click “Ok” to create patterns.
Note: If you want to remove some of the instances,
- Click on the “Instances to Skip” box in the command property manager
- The purple center points will appear on the centers of the pattern instances.
- Click on the center points of the patterned instances that you want to remove
Note 2: If you want to deselect the curve selected to creat a pattern,
- Click on the selected curve again
- Right-click on the curve in the list of “Entities to Pattern” and click on “Delete”.
