Slots in Solidworks

You can create four different types of slots in the Solidworks sketch environment.

1. Straight Slot
2. Centerpoint Straight Slot
3. 3 Point Arc Slot
4. Centerpoint Arc Slot

You can change the position and size of the slots by changing values in the “Parameters” tab in the command property manager after the slot created. But these values will not fix the slot dimensions. You can change the position and location of the slot by dragging or dimensioning.

Note: If you turn on the checkbox near the “Add dimensions” (in the Command Property Manager), you can not change the slot dimensions by using the parameters in the Command Property Manager. Click twice on the dimensions attached to slots created to change the values.
