Circle command creates a circle by using two different methods.
- Circle (Center)
- Perimeter Circle
You can select the type of circle by clicking the drop-down arrow near the circle or “Circle Type” in the command property manager after the circle command started.
Circle (Center)
- Start the “Circle” command.
- Select “Circle” in the Circle Type tab.
- Click on the graphics window to specify the circle center point.
- Click on the graphics window to specify a point on the circle curve.
- The circle will be created on the work view. You can change the circle parameters (radius, center points) by typing new values in the “Parameters” tab in the command property manager.
Perimeter Circle:
- Start the “Circle” command.
- Select “Perimeter Circle” in the Circle Type tab.
- Specify three points to draw a circle.
Example: Create a circle tangent to 3 curves.
Solution:
- Create a sketch.
- Start the “Circle command and select the “Perimeter Circle”
- Move the cursor on the first line. (The line will be highlighted and a tangent symbol will appear near the cursor)
- Click on the line.
- Repeat step 2 and step 3 on the next two curves.
- The circle will be created automatically after the third curve selected.
