Creating Curve on Surface in Siemens NX

You can create curves that lie on a surface in Siemens NX Modeling. These curves can be spline or straight. You can use the curve on the surface to divide faces in modeling.

The “Curve on Surface” command is used to create a curve on a surface.

• Curve Ribbon Bar => Advanced Group => Curve on Surface
• Menu => Insert => Curve => Curve on Surface

To create a curve on a surface in Siemens NX Modeling:

1. Start the “Curve on Surface” command.
2. The command dialog box will open.
3. The “Select Face” bar in the “Face for Spline” tab in the dialog box is highlighted at the start.
4. Select a face in the graphics window.
5. Click the middle mouse button once, to activate the “Specify Points” bar in the “Spline Constraints” tab.
6. Select points on the selected face 
7. The curve preview will be seen in the graphics window.
8. Click on the “OK” button to create a curve on the surface and exit from the command.
