Measuring Projected Distance in Siemens NX

You can measure the distance between two objects through the x,y, and z directions or by referencing any straight objects like curves or edges in Siemens NX.

To measure the projected distance between two objects:

1. Start the “Measure” command.
2. To reset previous settings in the measure command dialog box, click on the reset icon.
3. Select the object type in the “Object to Measure” group
   1. Object: To measure the distance between objects.
   2. Point: To measure the distance between points.
4. Select the first object.
5. Select the second object
6. Select the “Vector” in the “Object to Measure” group. 
7. The direction arrows simulate the x,y, and z directions will be seen in the graphics window.
8. To specify direction select the direction arrow in the graphics window.
   Also, you can select face, edge, or curve to specify measurement direction.
9. The projected direction will be seen in the graphics window.
