In the NX Sketch, The “Ellipse” command is used to create ellipses.
To activate the “Ellipse” command in a sketch:
- Menu => Insert => Sketch Curve => Ellipse
- Home Ribbon Bar => Direct Sketch Group (Click Drop Down Arrow) => More Curve Group => Ellipse
To create Ellipse in the NX Sketch:
- Start the “Ellipse” command.
- Specify the center point on the graphics window. (“Specify Point” bar under the “Center” tab is highlighted in the command dialog box automatically)
- The preview of the ellipse will appear in the graphics window.
- Type the values of the Major Radius and Minor Radius.
(Also you can specify major and minor radiuses by dragging manipulators on the ellipse in the graphics window.) - Type the Ellipse angle in the “Angle” box under the “Rotation” tab.
- Click “Ok” to create Ellipse and finish the command.
Note: If you want to create an open ellipse, check the “Closed” box under the “Limits” tab and set the start and end angles.
