Ellipse in NX Sketch

In the NX Sketch, The “Ellipse” command is used to create ellipses.

To  activate the “Ellipse” command in a sketch:

  • Menu => Insert => Sketch Curve => Ellipse
  • Home Ribbon Bar => Direct Sketch Group (Click Drop Down Arrow) => More Curve Group => Ellipse 

To create Ellipse in the NX Sketch:

  1. Start the “Ellipse” command.
  2. Specify the center point on the graphics window. (“Specify Point” bar under the “Center” tab is highlighted in the command dialog box automatically)
  3. The preview of the ellipse will appear in the graphics window.
  4. Type the values of the Major Radius and Minor Radius.
    (Also you can specify major and minor radiuses by dragging manipulators on the ellipse in the graphics window.)
  5. Type the Ellipse angle in the “Angle” box under the “Rotation” tab.
  6. Click “Ok” to create Ellipse and finish the command.

Note: If you want to create an open ellipse, check the “Closed” box under the “Limits” tab and set the start and end angles.
