Positioning Sketch Origin in NX

Sketch origin created automatically due to your settings in NX. You can change the position of the origin when creating a sketch.

To change the sketch origin position; you should change the  “Origin Method” setting in the “Sketch” command dialog box as shown in the figure.

 “Origin Method” settings in the Siemens NX:

  1. Use Work Part Origin: Creates the sketch origin on the projection of the part origin automatically.
  2. Specify Point: You can specify a new origin point for the sketch. Set the  “Origin Method” as “Specify Point” then specify the new center point for the sketch.
